Galatasaray yet to agree personal terms with Eboue

Emmanuel Eboue’s ongoing move to Turkish giants Galatasaray has hit a stumbling block after the Ivorian rejected the contract terms offered to him.

The 28-year-old right-back, who was left out of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, is one of several players who has had offers welcomed for them due to average performances last season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had also admitted this week that Eboue and Nicklas Bendtner are likely to leave this summer.

“How many will leave the club? I said from the start I will fight to keep everybody. Nicklas Bendtner might go and Emmanuel Eboue might go. They can talk to clubs, but the rest I will fight.”

Earlier this week, Galatasaray officials met with Eboue’s representatives after a fee in the region of £4million was reportedly agreed between the two clubs.

However, the versatile defender’s wages have managed to prove a sticking point for Fatih Terim’s side, who are expected to come back with an improved contract offer for the former Beveren player in the coming days.

Ivory Coast international Eboue has been at Arsenal since the summer of 2006, making a total of 214 appearances during his five-year stay in north London.
