Blanc: Nasri won't be signing new contract at Arsenal
|France manager Laurent Blanc has revealed that Samir Nasri will not sign a new contract at Arsenal, as talks between the Frenchman and Manchester City are expected to continue this week.
The former Marseille midfielder, who has less than year left on his existing contract, is yet to sign a new deal with Premier League rivals City the favourites to acquire the 24-year-old’s services.
Blanc was speaking to in his pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s international friendly against Chile – where Nasri is expected to start.
“As far as I know he’s still an Arsenal player [at the moment]. I know he’s in talks with his club, not about signing a new contract, but to find a new club as he told me he won’t be signing a new contract”, Blanc said.
Arsene Wenger’s preparations for the Premier League season opener at Newcastle United on Saturday have been thrown into turmoil by the prospect of him losing his two best midfielders – Cesc Fabregas and Nasri.

Thanks to our good friends over at ASCFR for the translations.
Ok, sell this disturbed guy and bring in Mata.
c***
Rat!
I think that was pretty clear since a long time. The question is, do we keep a player who’s fully adapted to the PL, an integral part of our attack, capable of turning games around and hopefully help us win a trophy this season (virtually at the the cost of 20m) or do we sell him and replace him with a player (Mata) who’d be new to the league, new to our team, and may take time to adjust, thereby, hampering our chances for success this season. Which option would you go for, Chris?
Dear Mr. Blanc,
Please keep your wandering french snout out of business that does not concern you. You should not care if Nasri plays for Arsenal, Man Shitty or Bedford Rovers. If he plays well enough you (if you so desire) can choose him for your uninspiring national team.
In the meantime please keep your downturned mouth with shrugged shoulders firmly away from an area that is raising real concern with real fans.
Get stuffed king of the cheese eating surrender monkeys.
Yours (in)sincerely,
An Arsenal fan.
What a joke… thanks for devaluing the price of this ingrate. Get f*cked Blanc!
Nicely done! Can we now send in a 30M bid for Mata and get him in by friday?
F**k him off the algerian merc dog
Fucking mercenary. With the extra 100 grand a week Nasri , get them teeth sorted you ugly fuck!
Th truth hates,bt let hm go,wat a traitor.lets hop th funds generatd frm hs sale wil b reinvestd in team playn personel.
Let him go with some cash is the best way here. But can you ever remember any players who left arsenal under Wenger and become a better player as they are now? No I couldn’t think of one… So Samir if you think of leaving to become a better player? You might just lost that….
Moneygrabbing cunt. His head has been turned with the financial doping going on at Citeh.
Personally i’d rather nasri stayed, but holding on to a player who is not committed to the club might be counterproductive, and mata may just adapt quicker than we might think.
Get Matta now! Let’s not wait.
Nasri 22mil. OUT. Mata 25-28mil. IN! fast! no time!
Straight swap for Silva please
I guess that’s a pretty tough situation 4 Arsenal wit Nasri 1 of the best players in EPL and also suit 2 Arsenal style of play, wld Mata adapt 2 the EPL and Arsenal style of play? That’s the talkin point. Allow Nasri go and bring on Mata who really wants 2 play 4 Arsenal. Nasri i bet u Man city aren’t gonna win any trophy “jst the way they lost 2 Man united”.
I saw Mata against Liverpool on Saturday and believe me i wasn’t really impressed based on what i was hearing about Mata beforehand. Nasri’s Money can be used on a good cb. Also from the Benfica game i realsied we have more than just a centre back problem. Our team just cannot defend. Our midfield leaves it up to the centre backs. I saw rosicky let a guy pass him and didnt do anything. WE need to learn to defend likea team, Barca does it and we call them light wieghts. Man utd does it and Park ji does it for them. We need to take the pressure off the defenders. One match last season i remember song running all over the pitch and was basically the ONLY midfielder defending which was shocking. 433 needs the team to defend as a whole and we must stop blaming the CB’s all the time. Also gibbs attacks well but leaves gaps. WHen those gaps are left no one fills them! Gervinho was the only one i saw other than our Defisnve midfielder that was running back and trying to defend. He even filled in for sagna when he was way up in the pitch
sell him now get the money and buy mata. He is such a greedy monkey
let’s get the finger out and go get Mata before someone else does now!
i have no doubt Mata will play better in his first season for Arsenal than Nasri would in what would be his last…
i’ve been wishing for Mata for a long time now anyway, i find him a bigger talent than Nasri.
I have been following Nasri’s Arsenal-career as the first rumour had been available on the internet about his possible move to us from Marseille. Until this point I liked him but now my opinion has turned around.
I know that some of the critisim for Wenger are right, but with the Nasri-deal, the player is ‘sinner’. Wenger was the only man who believed in him in 2008 just after that Nasri got over a very serious illness, meningitis. Wenger was the only man who paid for him €15m which was not a small offer at that time prior to the recent dominancy of Man City and co. Now it would have been the time for Nasri to pay back Wenger’s support and trust as he enters his peaking age.
But unfortunately Nasri is about to join Man City, I cannot feel sorry for him at all, I have only concern for Wenger and Arsenal to sign an experienced player for Nasri’s place. Quality and talented youngs are in but now we need some experienced one.
I couldnt agree more I also watched it and looked well off the pace to me, if this how good he is no way upto the pace of the prem.
oh yeah, and Mertesacker being available and probably at a lower price than Cahill, Samba and Jagielka, doesn’t really hurt since he’s better than all of them.
eden hazzard is the one i want,he will link up well with gervinho as well
I think the best for Arsenal is for Nasri to go to Man City no good staying if the heart is not in the game. We will be better off with Mata if we sign him also the signing of Gervihno they will bring our game up a gear for the next season. Com on you Gunners.
This mantra that Arsenal’s preparation for the new season has been thrown into turmoil is utter nonsense.
So Nasri had a good half-season, and he wants to leave. Please let him go immediately. No one player is bigger than Arsenal. Liverpool moved Torres on(in mid-season no less), and are the better for it.
AW is in control of the situation.
@andy: This was meant for reply to coming soon
i always knew Blanc was behind these things, he told Clichy to leave Arsnl so he can realy compete wif Evra, n now he’s talkn Nasri up into joining Utd or City. Blanc is a disgrace to national team coaching, n he shd mind his own business afta all he even said he wudnt involve non-french nationals in his future team. Blanc, the bald-head kisser!
please let Wenger sell these two rebels in our camp and let us use this season to rebuild, and let us know that we are not contending for any trophy this season but rebuilding towards next season, but if in the process we qualify for champions league or Europa league we consider it a bonus.
If what is happening with Nasri is true, he is the most STUPID person ever to grace this earth. Yes he may be going to Mancity and getting a huge paypacket but the truth of the matter is he has gone and royally fucked his career. The guy is an arrogant prick which caused problems within the french squad apparently in arsenal now he will be on a huge paypacket and after 1 season Mancity will not really use him anymore i bet, he will be a benchwarmer whilst other mercs that want big wages come in, then he will do an adebayor be sucking the cocks of other clubs begging for a loan away etc and he may get one……..but because of his attitude and high wages no one will touch him with a 100 mile bargepole.
In a way i hope this happens also because i am sick to death with this, i hope he wins nothing gets dumped by the people that bought him and he starts doing a Hleb……………..as far as i am concerned he can fornicate himself with a soldering iron……………….you watch this space he is gonna regret his decision badly and you know what i will do then………..LAUGH!!
don’t forget spanish clubs are behind us for pre season as they start later so Mata won’t be 100% sharp yet
Milner, Johnson, Barry, Silva, Toure, De Jong, Weiss, Razak, Wright-Phillips, Agureo, Tevez, Dzeko, Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Bellamy, Nimely, Balotelli
Good luck Samir, all i see is lots of bench time for you,
apart from when you are eating apples through a letter box with your gnashers you greedy fat ponce
thats it..jst sell the bastard & get a replacement quick..no player is bigger than the Arsenal!!
If there were anyone who doubted the fact Nasri will leave, that’s it now. For me, as I’ve always said I’m very happy. Nasri would surely not be missed. In fact, it would be a blessing. This is not emotional resistance, but Nasri has always been a misfit to Arsenal’s play. He plays on the wings, and, as such, expected to be swift by releasing strikers, as did Pires and Freddie. Unfortunately, he has always been the one to slow Arsenal down by turning eround and making one-twos other than making swift deliveries. When Cesc got injured and Nasri was thrown into the skipper’s central role, no such creativity was delivered as he was totally overshadowed by the young Wilshere. Mata, to me, would be a much better player.
i am really disappointed in Nasri cos i really like this guy so much but for now it becoming my hater i dont no why wenger should sell him now and get hazard for as now wenger should use the same money for hazard
Sell him now and I think signing a player like Arterta would be a very good move, as you have a excellent player on the ball who could slot into our midfield, has been in the league for years and is at the right age. Im sure he would jump at the chance to play for us. He wouldn’t cost that much and I’m surprised it’s an option we haven’t considered.
sell the c*nt 2 a serie a team. not an epl team
Give Miyaichi his no.8 shirt now, 8 is considered a lucky number in Japan, China and Malaysia as well as other Asian countries. We could sell an absolute shit load, probably as much money as we will get for Nasri!!
For me we have already replaced Nasri. He played left or right wing most of the last 3 seasons, we now have Walcott, Gervinho, Arshavin, Vela, Chamberlain and Miyaichi. Afobe, Gibbs, Traore, Rosicky, Watt, Sunu, Botelho and Freeman can also play on the wing, whilst a little way behind them we have, Gnabry, Bellerin, Bunjaku, Monakana, Neita, Bhimoutine.
The Nasri cash must be spent elsewhere, no more wingers required. unless we sell Arshavin, then i might consider Mata, but to be fair i would much rather we got Hazard even if we have to wait a year.
I don’t really mind Nasri leaving, as he only seems to show up at the start of each season then his heat gets big and does nothing for the rest of it. He is a terrific player when he’s grounded, but he does tend to disappear for months. The only bad point of it all is that the club allowed him to run down his contract.
When we do decide to sell I can’t see us signing Mata, or any other attacking player to replace Nasri. With the signing of Chamberlain and Ryo getting a work permit, Arsene will see those two as good cover for Walcott, Arshavin, Gervinho and Rosicky. That’s 6 players for 2 positions, possibly 3 if you decide to play one of them off RvP. It will be the typical story about how Arsene doesn’t want to ‘kill’ the career of the younger players.
I would like Arsene to prove me wrong, but I can’t see him spending 20m+ on Mata to bench Arshavin and push Chamerblain and Ryo out of the squad for each game.
I would offer Nasri top Arsenal wages ($100) and a $15MM sign on fee. If he didn’t accept by the end of the week, I’d sell him to the highest bidder other than United, then I’d let Arshavin, Vela, Miyaichi, Chamberlain and Gervinho battle it out for the spot.
I too watched Mata on the weekend and was not impressed. At all. Sure it’s just one game. But surely he’d have been motivated to show something against Premier League opposition. Nada.
Cesc stays.
I bet Wenger rues signing Nasri instead of Hatem Ben Arfa but if he can get 20-25m 4 him, then he can go.. I feel sorry 4 Nasri coz his game at Arsenal was picking up n his star was on the rise..Now I only see a free downfall 4 him at Man city. He’ll get money he craves 4 but he should ask Adebayor what happens after u get the money
The sad thing is that if we sign cahill/samba or the mershak guy, the defensive problems would persist. We seem to not have the penetrative and winning mentality. The team just needs to learn how to get the ball back when dispossessed an sometimes just clear the ball instead of pass it out. Also we need to shoot around the box. I know passing everyday in training may have caused that lack of shooting situation, but surely we must be mroe clinical. I remember Vela in preseason missed a opportunity that Rooney or Anelka would have buried. Also i know the Benfica was preseason, but its just 1 week away from Newcastle. We should have buried Benfica. The team looks weird and i was very disappointed. Also i dont think Arsenal fans are as strong as Liverpool’s fans that stuck with them when they came out of top 4.
Every mid to bottom table team knows how to play against Arsenal which is sad. But when they play against a Mtd, they ahve to deal with wingers (nani), Clinical Strikers( rooney), good passing(gigs/scholes) and lots of crosses into the box. But when playing against us, all the coaches say is tackle hard, and put 10 men behind the ball. Get lots of corners and crowd their keeper. thats all they do.
As for Fabregas, he has showed his loyalty, and his situation is unique, so i dont think we can kill him. Players are workers like me and you. We cant work normally if we are uncomfortable. As for Nasri he should show that he is doing a move for his Career and noit for his pocket. his pocket would lead him to man city, but atleast if he went to Man utd, he can argue that he wants trophies.
Let go nasri for 22m pounds, sell Bendtner for 9m p that’s 31m ,Show wenger some balls pay that 32 m for Snider pay his wages with fabregas wages, sell cesc for 40 m buy cahill for 17m and in the end you will have profit 20 m in the bank everybody wins we have wingers in walcott gervinho alex ryo and arshavin we have snider replacement for cesc quality replacement and we have good deffender !
SEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLL HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For cryin’ out load and sell Fabregas, then use that money instantly, don’t even give yourself time to look at it or think about it otherwise you know what will happen, you’ll start to think “zis iz alut of moneyz, wha would ah vant to spend set!”
@Vic: Lassana Diarra
Why would snider leave inter for Arsenal? ALso i would keep bendtner as a central striker and sell Chamakh. Which qualirty player would presently come to arsenal? Not in this rebuilding/post emirates period. Thats why we buy players on the brink of greatness. Football players are like us, they leave a job for a higher paying ones. Our players dont seem to be motivated.
Why these all stupid fans wanting to sell him.
Still these people expect Arsenal will spend that money to buy a replacement.
When these all stupid people understand, AW will just put that money into bank and use his young players and will say same stupid reasons.
Arsenal and AW need not win anything. Only fans need trophies. So please pray not to sell any players. Because we are not going to get any good players.
The guy is ingrate. his first season wasn’t 100%, 2 season he was injured, and last season he has a fabulous season. Now he’s crying that he wanna to go, sell the ingrate so that he can go and rotten there.
Go on then Samir f*** off, miserable c*** 😀
