Defender Emmanuel Eboue has revealed that his move to Turkish side Galatasaray will be completed shortly, with the Ivorian expected to be officially presented on Thursday.
The 28-year-old, who had not been given a squad number ahead of the new season, has been in talks with Galatasaray officials for over a month with Arsenal accepting a £3.5million fee towards the end of July.
Eboue told Radio Abidjan this morning that the deal would have been done sooner if it wasn’t for the match-fixing problems that currently surround Turkish football.
Ivory Coast international Eboue has been at Arsenal since the summer of 2006, making a total of 214 appearances during his five-year stay in north London.
