Traoré on the verge of QPR loan move
Arsenal defender Armand Traoré is expected to tie-up a loan move to QPR when left-back Kieran Gibbs returns to full fitness, Gooner Talk understands.
The Senegalese international has only recently recovered from a groin injury sustained after playing just 9 minutes of reserve team football during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Manchester United on Monday.
Officials from the West London side made enquiries about the availability of Traoré over a week ago, but were told that only a loan move would be viable at the current time.
Tentative enquiries from Benfica have also been made, although sources close to the player suggest that QPR would be his preferred destination.
Traoré, who recently opted to represent his nation of origin, Senegal, has been at Arsenal since August 2005 although injury problems and loan spells away from the club have made it difficult for the 21-year-old to break into the starting XI.

Wow, we have no left backs left
We will need a new, experience left back regardless whether he does go on to loan because he isn’t good enough and Gibbs is too injury prone.
Surely we must be bringing a new LB in then if this goes through?
i hope this is wrong. gibbs will play 25% of the season if we’re lucky and this kid looks good based on preseason… unless we have a lb lined up equal to or better than gibbs keep him to cover lb or the left side of midfield.
wasting vermaelen on the left should be a last resort. gibbs i don’t rate personally and everyone tells me i’m wrong but we actually do need to field a player in this position. loaning traore is a ridiculous idea.
I’m loving this. I have a feeling we are going to have our minds blown with the signings Wenger is going to make and he will be vindicated.
I dont rate him at all, but how can we afford to let another play leave when our squad is already stretched to breaking point?

It obviously means we’re bringing in another left back. Either that or we’re signing defenders and moving Vermaelen to left back.
if this go throgh we should buy marcelo we dont afford having only one left back in gibbs i know wermalen can play in the left back but i dont see the point in taking our strongest centre back and move him to the left what do you say thums up!!!!!
I really hope this isnt true, personally i think hes better than Gibbs, Gibbs is too lightweight. When you look at how pathetically thin our squad is, why have we loaned out Denilson, Vela and Botelho? I know they rnt great players, but surely we just need to bodies?!
Also, I’d sooner keep Bendtner than Chamakh, hes a far far better player.

I really think Wenger is up to something. As in trying to clear the dead-woods in the team, find a balance and embark on a spending spree. If that’s the case, then the angry supporters will soon be singing his praise and then beg him to stay put at Arsenal.
I don’t understand this at all; he was loaned out to Juventus last year, surely he now either has to make the first team or be sold?? Or do we send players on loan in the hope we’ll get a higher price after one year more exposure?

we’re really going at it…sell sell sell sell….and the rest of the players we can loan out..we save the salaries..i bet there isnt a better club in the world..The Arsenal Ambition..making money :)we dont we increase the ticket prices..just a little…sell Wermy..sell RvP..sell Walcott and get rid of Wilshire …we should be able to get some well earned cash for them too..

now we have only Gibbs at left back who is injury proned and unexperienced , we need Traoré to give Gibbs some competition and also we there so many games this season most top 4 clubs have at least two players per position I dont see the scene of this deal unless wenger is planning to buy a left back which seriously doubt he will , hate to be negative but there not much positive talk about when we fail to replace the players we sell I still have faith in Wenger , this guy is a genius but he needs to prioritise in buying experienced players that will help the development of our young players when we had Fabregas there was Viera, Pires and Gilbeto look at Wilshere he playing with player roughly the same age as him in Ramsey and also song is young aswell i am convinced that we struggle because you cannot have a successful team full of young players the other day theo walcott said he felt like a old man in the squad and he is only 22 i just want us to sign established player who will help the development of out young players this combination will enable us to successful just look at united i think the problem is that wenger just dont like spending over the odd on what he call average players i don’t cahill is average player ? is juan mata a average player i dont think so maybe he restricted financially and the arsenal board are going to take huge about of dividend when korneke takeover completely all i kno is that we have pay over odds to get the right players in ,in the same respect our financial potential.

Wenger has lost his marbles tbh. We could have got enrique, and we are stuck with glass bones bibbs and for ever loanee traore. Wenger has surrounded the club with mediocre players. For the love of god Liverpool got enrique for million jesus christ.
If this is true, then Mr Wenger has to sign at least 2 defenders..else..and what about the midfield? what about strikers? All i keep hearing are sames and rumors of impending sales and loans..

This is the current state of the Arsenal squad..Absolutely no depth whatsoever in all positions and we still have to play a 2nd Udinese leg, Liverpool and Man U..However, all I keep hearing are “the transfer window is not a supermarket” or “we have a large squad” or the most truly annoying one..“we have money to spend, I want to make sure we are buying more quality players than we currently have”..
If Wenger thinks he cannot find more quality players than Chamakh or Rosicky or then he is truly deluded and I’m sorry but he HAS TO GO..again, the FACTS speak for themselves..look at our squad damn it! We can spend 15m on a 17yr old winger who set the championship on fire but cannot spend 20m on a world cup winner/fully experienced winger..so much for his words..”we are not afraid to spend money”..!

great Arsenal supporters, Wenger has continued his mediocre style and his mediocrity will cost us dearly. We hav no team as at now and i dnt see us beating any premire league team in the top half with the current team. Its too much of Arsenal management taking advantage of the supporters, i hope one day the supporters in England will boycot the going to watch arsenal. Wenger should step down, Mourinho should come to Arsenal.

He did well last time he was in the side, and he was miles better than gibbs in preseason (although gibbs did start the actual season well). Think he deserves a shot at LB. We could do with another CB anyway, and TV and Kos, as well as Jenkinson can cover that position.

I really would like to think that Wenger would bring in cover for the obvious weak spots we have on this team, but I simply do not see him spending on anyone. He wants to do it his way and run with what he’s got so he can say I told you so, but everyone can see this is by far the weakest squad AW has fielded since he became Arsenal manager o’ so many years ago…. I really fear we’ve seen our last CL season, and thats if we can hold off Udinese in Italy next week to go through. We have no cover for old glass legs Van Persie, you know he is just a week or two from getting injured and being out for 3 or more months, then we have good old Mr. I can hit the side of a barn Chamack (sp)….
Switch Vermaelen to leftback, bring in Cahill and Mertesacker with sagna at rightback. Would be a lot better defence then we currently have and would have 3 centerbacks availiable to defend setpieces. Djourou and Koscielny can be the back up centerbacks with Squillaci out. Bring in M’vila and Sissoko to offer competion in midfield. They are capable of running Song for the holding role and back up Wilshere and Ramsey. This would allow them to step forward into the attacking midfield role if needed. Nasri is going so we should bring in Zarate, Hazard or Willian to play in behind Persie.
We can buy Cahill 15m, Mertesacker 6m, M’Vila 10m, Sissoko 10m and Hazard 20m for around 60mil. We have the monies easily to get these players

You have some people on this site getting excited because this is likely to lead to a new left back.Remember this is Wenger we are talking about.He is never certain to sign anyone and not at the right time if he does.Jenkinson must be Superman if after 9 Charlton appearances he can deputise across the complete back four-especially when he struggled on Tuesday against Udinese.

armand traore was last year at juve, this year to qpr, so next year with the pl experience he would have, he will challenge for the starting XI. this leaves us with injury prone gibbs and thomas vermaelen, so logical conclusion is that wenger can either spend some money to but 2-3 cbs or a cb and a first choice lb. if the latter is tha case, i think we should forget about leighton baines. the guy is great, but everton tend to be very stubborn when deciding to let their players go, so i imagine they will put 20 mill + price tag and wenger will immediately back off cos we all know he doesnt like buying players above their real value.
i really dont know who our other option will be, buti just want wenger to sign someome. i mean, i`m getting opssesed with this arsenal signing players, so wenger please sign someone and let me have peace 😀
