Santos left out of Brazil squad
Arsenal new-boy Andre Santos has not been included in the Brazil squad for their upcoming international friendlies against Costa Rica and Mexico.
The 28-year-old, who made his full debut in Arsenal’s 4-3 defeat at Blackburn last week, has recently fallen out of favour with Brazil boss Mano Menezes, prompting Bayern Munich’s Luiz Gustavo and Man United’s Fabio to be included in the squads instead.
Under-fire Menezes announced a separate list for the upcoming match against Argentina which only included players from Brazilian teams, while the international friendlies squad was dominated by footballers plying their trade abroad.
Five-time world champions Brazil are under pressure to improve their inconsistent form following a slip down the FIFA World Rankings to 7th from 3rd.
Santos is in contention to face Bolton at Emirates Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Santos looks great going forward, but I think he like the rest of the defense could benefit greatly from coaching. Remember he may not yet speak or understand English. Still after just one game played thus far, he can only get better!
santos is obviously better than gibbs in all aspests…
Mano has only-FINALLY-done what followers of the Brazilian NT and Brazilian football pundits have been begging him to do for a very long time (ever since Andre was called by Dunga): to drop him from the NT.
He’s a very limited, mediocre player & we have several better LBs than him. Even the limited Adriano at Barca is better.
Mano dropped him for our last int’l friendly & we were all worried he’d bring him back. We’re very grateful he hasn’t.
Bad left back
because of poor positioning,santos cost us victory against black burn rovers.both goals scored by yakubu it becoz of him not reading the defend.if had gibbs we could have won that match .
Santos is like Eboue, he isnt a full back properly. Santos dont eye the corner to make crossings, he is always enjoying the middle, he doenst have the impetus that regular full backs have. he is good technically, creative and can assist but he is bit slow to make it on left back at premier league
