Gunners favourites to continue undefeated run against Wigan

Arsenal look cracking value at 1.57 to beat Wigan at the DW Stadium this weekend, and maintain their challenge for a top four spot.

Wigan have won only one of their 12 Premier League meetings with the Gunners and have the worst conversion rate in the top flight having scored with just 9% of their shots.

Prior to their 2-1 away win against struggling Sunderland last weekend they had looked in dire straits, and it will be a major surprise if the Wenger boys don’t prove far too strong for them

What is a surprise however is that Arsenal are 1.57 for victory with bet365, Boylesports and Paddy Power given that they were 1.5 in the same fixture last season.

They come into the game on a terrific unbeaten league run which has seen them climb into seventh and are are going for their third successive away win on the bounce.

And although they been failing to keep a clean sheet in many games they have still proved too strong for their opponents at the other end of the pitch, thanks to the terrific goal scoring exploits of Robin van Persie.

The Dutchman has done us bags of favours in the goal scorer markets this season and not surprisingly tops the betting at 3.75 to net the opener with Betfred and Paddy Power.

At first glance that looks plenty short, but he in an obvious choice and will once again be carrying my cash given how poor Wigan are at the back.

However I am also going to have a small saver on Alex Oxlade Chamberlain in the same market at 11 with Betfred, as the price looks too big with many firms going just 9.

In the last four meetings between the Latics and the Gunners both sides have scored, so for those that like to play odds-on the 1.67 about both teams netting looks a solid bet.

However even if Wigan do manage to score I fully expect Arsenal to come out on top, and like the look of them winning either 2-1 or 3-1.

bet365 go 8 about the former, while the latter is a tasty looking 12 with bet365 and Boylesports.
