Arsenal continued their impressive Premier League run with a dominant display over Wigan on Saturday afternoon, running out 4-0 winners.
The Gunners opened the scoring after 28 minutes when Mikel Arteta fired in from distance, albeit via a howler from Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi.
It was 2-0 moments later when Thomas Vermaelen headed home a Robin van Persie corner just before the half-hour mark.
Gervinho netted his third goal for the club to put the away side 3-0 ahead on the hour mark after he was released by Robin van Persie.
Arsene Wenger’s side controlled the match in the latter stages and added a fourth after 78 minutes when van Persie slotted home from close range.
Arsenal’s next game is in Greece against Olympiacos on Wednesday, while they’ll hope to continue their rise up the Premier League table when they play Everton next weekend.
