Arsenal v Chelsea Preview
|Arsenal are a top priced even money (2) with Boylesports and Betfred to do the league double over Chelsea this weekend and everything suggests they will do just that.
The Gunners have won 12 and lost just two of their last 16 league games at the Emirates (2 draws), and have scored in all those fixtures.
They face a side who have won on just three of their previous 19 visits and have lost 29 points from winning positions against them.
The visitors also come into the game after a gruelling midweek Champions League game against Barcelona, and it’s highly likely that Roberto Di Matteo will rest several of his key players as next Tuesday’s return leg in Spain will now surely take precedence over the league.
That makes Arsenal look a fair punt in my eyes, as they had been in great form prior to Monday’s 2-1 defeat to Wigan where they sorely missed Laurent Koscielny.
He is now available again after a two game suspension, and that is a great boost for the squad given that Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun will be absent.
Although Arsenal have the Premier League’s top scorer this season in the shape of Robin van Persie (27), it’s also worth noting that they also have a joint-league high of 17 different goalscorers in this campaign.
However the Dutchman still appeals as the most likely player to break the deadlock and simply has to be the bet to score first at a huge looking 5 with Paddy Power.
Gervihno also looks big at 10 with Boylesports and Paddy Power in the same market and is worth a small saver.
Arsenal to win 3-1 is my idea of the outcome, and that is a 17 chance with Betfred.
