Cazorla double keeps Arsenal in race for fourth place

Santi Cazorla scored in both halves as Arsenal beat relegation-threatened Aston Villa 2-1 at Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard gave the Gunners the lead after five minutes, but his opener was cancelled out when Andreas Weimann levelled the score for Villa just 20 minutes from time.

However, Cazorla struck again late on in the match to restore the hosts’ lead and give them all three points.

Man of the Match

Santi Cazorla – Arsenal’s Spanish midfield maestro scored a crucial brace as Arsene Wenger’s men continue to fight for third place. Bet Victor had superb odds on Cazorla netting the winner at Emirates Stadium.

Where next?

Schzezny- 5/10

Vermaelen- 7/10
Monreal- 7/10

Diaby- 5/10
Wilshere- 7/10
Walcott- 6/10
Cazorla- 9/10
Giroud 7/10

Thought defence actually defended well but the cover from midfield was non-existent and it left us very exposed. Walcott was pretty quiet & as poor as Giroud’s finishing was, I still thought he linked up very well with the team.

3 points is all that mattered but the performance didn’t fill me with confidence. Centre halves look shaky but that may be because there is absolutely no protection. We’ve so many players ahead of the ball that when we lose it, we’re in trouble. Hopefully we can turn it around
