Barcelona defender Gerard Pique says his team-mate Cesc Fabregas still speaks very highly of his former club Arsenal and ‘loves to talk about’ the Gunners.

The 25-year-old left Catalan giants Barça aged 16 to join Arsene Wenger’s side but returned to Camp Nou in 2011 following protracted transfer negotiations.

Fabregas, who recently said he wants to retire at Barcelona, was linked with a move back to Emirates Stadium recently and Pique revealed his compatriot ‘loves to talk’ about his time in north London.

“We [Barcelona squad] talk about van Persie and Rooney”, Pique told Football Focus.

“Fabregas loves to talk about Arsenal but we say they have no chance of winning the title this season!”

Ex-Arsenal skipper Fabregas played a pivotal role in midfield during his eight years at the club, but has been forced to play second fiddle to Barcelona’s Xavi and Andreas Iniesta regularly over the past few seasons.

Despite that, he has still made 29 appearances for Tito Villanova’s team this season, scoring eight goals.
