Arsenal duo Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny have both refuted reports saying they are set to leave the club this summer.

The Gunners pair have struck up a solid defensive partnership in recent games managing to keep error-prone skipper Thomas Vermaelen out of the team.

However, both players have come out to deny recent media speculation which claimed that they may be shipped out at the end of the season.

“I have no intention of returning to Germany. I have two more years there and I am eager to reinforce the respect I have earned at club and with the coach”, said German international Mertesacker.

“I still have four years left on my contract after June,” Koscielny, currently on international duty, confirmed.

“I feel good in the club – they have faith in me.

Meanwhile, Bacary Sagna’s future at Emirates Stadium is still yet not clear after negotiations stalled on a contract extension.

Sagna, 30, is reportedly keen on staying in North London but isn’t happy with the current 1-year deal offered to him.
