'Show some ambition or I will look elsewhere', says Koscielny
Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has issued a stark warning to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger – ‘show some ambition in the summer transfer window or I may leave’.
The 27-year-old has been linked with European champions Bayern Munich after impressing against them when the two clubs met in the Champions League last season. Although none of the bwin football betting odds favoured the Gunners before the game, the Frenchman gave them some hope.
Koscielny’s comments echo the thoughts of former striker Robin van Persie who left for Manchester United last summer after issuing a statement criticising the club’s lack of ambition.
“I feel good at Arsenal. I’ve just come to the end of a complicated season, especially the first six months, but it’s over now”, Koscielny told Eurosport.
“I want to win titles and I hope the club has the means. It deserves it. Does the club want to keep me? That question is also there.
“If the club has the means to compete with the best, I have no reason to leave. But if it fights every year for Champions League [qualification] it’s hard psychologically to be under such constant pressure.
“I do not want to go anywhere. Of course I want to know another championship, but it’s complicated.
“I want to lift trophies and to have a winning record. I hope the club will give me the means. If this weren’t the case, I’d look elsewhere.”
The Frenchman came to Arsenal from Lorient three years ago and has since become one of the Gunners key players, flourishing at centre back with countless stand-out performances.
No other player has started more games for Wenger’s side over the last three years than Koscielny, who has made 119 appearances in all competitions since joining in July 2010.
France international Koscielny still has four years to run on his current contract which expires in 2017.

My dear Laurent – YOU ARE AN EMPLOYEE! Get on with your job and let Wenger do his. Your job is not to measure the clubs ambition but to show some yourself – start by not pissing about with Szeczny on clearances in league cup finals and not sticking in routine crosses into your own net.
Its high time Arsenal players took responsibility for where we have got to.

Everyone knows that arsenal will be very active in the transfer market so there was no need for koscienly to come out and say what he did. It sounds like he wants to go to Munich. If thats the case then we should sell him for 20mil not 15mil.
Koscielny and Sczescesny were the culprits for that painful carling cup loss to Birmingham City. What is ambition when he could not even hold his own against a lowly Birmingham with a trophy just few yards away. KOS please shut up and show ambition to win for arsenal.

Infact, players such as TV5, KOS, Gervais, Diaby etc have Arsenal’s problem for years. Show some ambition or shut up…..

If this is true, then it is high time that the clubs start showing who the boss is. If this is the attitude, then I say bench him… Play Verm and Mert and BUY another defender as THIRD Choice.
When they don’t play and loose their spot in their country team, they will realize that they are also the one’s to show AMBITION.

most arsenal fans seem to forget that the players are also people..n as a sportsman i know no 1 likes to play with shit players or go home ,n when your asked how the game was…say you lost…..so i totaly understand lolo…{same with rvp last season ,wen the ox was pulled out for the lazy arshavin)..it totally sucks to loose,every1 wants 2 b on the winning side….i dnt see lolo’s comments as a request to leave,..but rather a plea for some positive signings…

Completely lost in translation, if you ask me. Typically, the press latched on with catchy headlines just to cause angst among the faithfuls. Kosovo is an Arsenal man already and is only expressing his desire to win trophies, most preferably with Arsenal. I will wait a few days to see subsequent translations and reactions.

KOS is one of those sh*t players from Ligue 2 that the BFG has to endure. He should shut his silly mouth and show some ambition himself. He has everything to thank Arsenal and AW for and hasn’t given anything back. He’s nowhere near a position to place demands or require anything. Gratitude should be his trade, not arrogance…

Some Arsenal fans lack good understanding of this statement of Laurent. He does not mean he wants go leave, all he requests is for Arsenal board and Wenger is to show some ambitions by signing quality players so they can win trophies. U’all tell me, i bet everyone wants to win trophies except for the ambition-less clubs. I love Koscienly and I believe he is an Arsenal man, but I wont be crossed with him if he leaves, rather ‘ll be unhappy with Arsenal board and Wenger and ‘ll NEVER forgive them.

Good at least he’s putting so pressure on Wenger during the transfer windows…no big fuss on what he said and if you really understand the entire contexts (try to analysts word by word) then probably he will know where he is coming from. All I can say is that his loves for Arsenal FC is undebatable…he really cares for the team..

The board and staff are lack of ambitions. when the owner (Kroenke) say something everybody in the club say yes to him. That Judas(RvP) admid what real happen to our club. Players can’t do anything about it but good try to push the owner to do something.
Why are some fans sticking up for koscienly for…when its so obvious that arsenal HAVE the money this year and they WILL be very ACTIVE in the transfer market. The rumours about Munich wanting him came out before the season ended and now that they are champion league winners he fancies the move. I would have had more respect if koscienly had the balls to just say he wants to go. Rather then come out with bollocks about the arsenal need to show ambition. The players absolutely need to take more responsibility for what happens on the pitch and not hide behind Wenger so much. Saying that, if we lose Kosc this summer, I dont care who we bring in as replacement (because we all know it wouldnt be one of a few fantastic names we hear of, it would be a guy with good potential) we would almost certainly be taking a step backwards AGAIN, something which we should not NOW be doing seeing as Arsenal are in a much better financial position.
I have understood why we have lost key players regularly for the past 6 years. Yet we were told it was all part of the process of getting us to where we are now. So lets not have that situation continue!
