Luis Suarez will not issue an apology to either his team-mates or manager and is adamant that his conduct has been respectful after asking to leave Liverpool for Arsenal.

The 26-year-old, who has been made to train on his own, recently told two British newspapers of an agreement which he claimed the club had reneged on a deal to allow him to leave this summer.

According to Sky Sports, the Uruguayan feels his treatment of the Reds has been ‘good and respectful’ to both club and supporters, although Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has demanded that Suarez should apologise if he wants to train with the rest of the squad.

“I have seen him over a period of time and I know it is not the Luis Suarez we know and I have to protect the fans and the players because they deserve more than that”, Rodgers recently told reporters.

Suarez will miss the first six matches of the season through suspension, but Gunners coach Arsene Wenger is still hopeful that he can force a move through for the former Ajax man.

However, PFA chief Gordon Taylor says it will be “practically impossible” for Suarez to leave this month with Liverpool’s American owner John W Henry also adamant that they will not be letting him go.
