Park Chu-Young 'living in hotel' and 'training away from Arsenal'
Arsenal striker Park Chu-Young is living in a hotel and mostly training away from the club’s London Colney facilities, Gooner Talk understands.
The 28-year-old, who spent last year on loan at Spanish side Celta Vigo, has made just six appearances during his two year stay at the club, scoring his only goal against Bolton in the League Cup.
Gunners executives went as far as writing off £5.5million in their accounts to cover the wages of the transfer flop.
It has emerged that the South Korea international has been maintaining his fitness at a London-based gym after being omitted from Arsenal’s first team squad.
Originally expected to be released, Park’s future in north London remains unclear although he has been linked with a surprise move to Sunderland as well as a return to Korea’s K-League.
Almost 20 players have left Emirates Stadium this summer which has left Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger desperate to bolster his paper-thin squad before the end of the month.
fair enough that he wasn’t good enough for us but it should be remembered that it is clouseau’s incompetence that has sort of ruined his career for 2 years.
I don’t understand any of this. He’s experienced and at least a decent footballer, well rounded and can do everything a forward would need to a decent level. Never saw him play particularly badly for us, was just a bit quiet in most games, and he’s surely better than what we have in backup currently. It’s mind-boggling really. We’ve turned him into a flop imo.
Agree with Davi – to me he has never been given a chance by Wenger. He put his goal away with great aplomb and some of those 6 times he played were very late subs appearances I believe. Wenger gives his frenchies loads of chances before he gives up on them if he ever does!
Park has had a bum deal from Wenger just like us fans!

Well said, yes never given enuf tym 2 prove whether he’s a gr8 player or a super flop (Park) bt it doesn’t take 2 long 2 know if a player’s good enuf 2 b a 1st team player (performance during training). Giroud and Diaby (when fit) r d best players in d team in their respective positions (even though they’re performing below expectations). Nevertheless, I’m of d opinion dat all underperformers including Giroud, Diaby, Park, Bendtner and Fabianski should b playing 4 lower or mid-table clubs lyk d Spuds and Liverfools. We need a Striker lyk Rooney, Suarez, Yilmaz, Eto’o, Lewandowski or Jackson Martinez, a Central DMF lyk Fellaini, Matuidi or Cabaye, a CB like Rami, Williams or Samba and a goalie lyk Cesar and we will become undoubtable title contenders. Wenger should give Park a chance. Park can score. He’s shown it in Monaco as well as when he was with Celta Vigo. His goal against Bolton was pretty good. He almost scored against Manchester City. Park isn’t the best and his game is not the prettiest but he can score. My hope is that Arsenal will not be able to sign any significant players so that Wenger finally gives Park a chance. Arsenal fans should start a chant at the next home game ” We want Park! We want Park!”
I agree with Brian. Park deserves a chance as a striker position. If he is given a chance he will shine! Wenger is so arrogant…they lose to Aston Villa. It’s time Park is given a chance. I wish all Gooner fans chanted “WE WANT PARK! WE WANT PARK!” as well.
He has the experience at international level. Actually he is quite good based on his previous stint with Monaco. I think he should be the second striker to Giroud and not Yaya Sonogo. He is still young and lack of experience. Deserved to be sent on loan for a season. Wenger should Let Park Chu Young play !
Truely, Ju-Young Park should be the next to Giroud in the centre forward role, in my opinion. He does everything fairly well. His pace, hold-up plays, link-up plays (passes), short dribbles, physical game, awareness and finishings are seemingly better than Giroud’s. If we fans can get behing him, Park is the strongest backup for Giroud in this current Arsenal Squad. We just have to chant. ‘We want Park! We want Park!! We want Park!!! We want Park!!!! We want Park!!!!!
gosh,if this guy is too good why aren’t other clubs taking hi in for free? the guy must have refused to leave so as to keep drawing his salary,players do,wenger trained him everyday and saw more than the champions here know. may be its his attitude.

What has this lad done wrong? I seriously do not understand wengers logics sometimes. First asian player he bought was Inamoto and he played 3 games, then Wenger decided he was no use. Second was Park? Played 6 games as a SUB and was determined by Wenger as a flop. Next is gonna be Miyaichi?? Asian players should seriously think twice about joining Arsenal. I love the club, but a lot of things they do make no sense.
Even though Park isnt a superstar player, I honestly still find him much more entertaining to watch than Walcott.
Its quite bad because remember that goal he scored against bolton, that an henry finished. chamakh or bentner and maybe van persie can’t score like that. He had takes hes chance and scores and has different qualities. So we made him into a flop by not playing him.

Park has had a load of problems, if you do a “little” research you will find out the Park is a cross between Chamakh and Bendtner. He and his agents tried to get out of national service, a BIG no no, so got slated back home and lost respect (again anyone who has a basic understanding of south East Asian culture will know what that means) Then he also thinks he’s a total world beater and does not train hard enough or work hard enough on the pitch. So in the end why would ANY manager rather than some dope playing FIFA take the risk
I respect with the way Arsenal manage the team financially, as a fan, why pay 5.5 million for a talent that you don’t use, just let Park do the talking on the field to pay his dues.
