Bendtner – "I’ve Changed"

Bendtner

Arsenal misfit, Nicklas Bendtner, has insisted the past couple of years have changed him as a player and a person, making it clear he is determined to let his football do the talking.

The 25-year-old Dane has returned to the Emirates Stadium this season after spending last season on loan at Juventus, during which time Bendtner managed to make even less of an impression on Serie A than he has on the Premier League.

But, despite being linked with numerous moves away from Arsenal by betfair pundits, the striker has been handed another chance by Arsene Wenger this season, although he has yet to set the world alight since his return from his dismal spell in Italy.

After making all sorts of ridiculous claims during his time with Arsenal, Bendtner has done nothing to help himself in terms of gaining the respect and love from the Gunners fans.

However, there have been more than enough glimpses of talent that suggest Bendtner could be a genuine top-class striker if he could only just stop looking at himself in the mirror long enough to focus on his football.

Bendtner started up front for the Capital One Cup tie with West Brom at The Hawthorns – and has now made it clear he has learned from his mistakes of the past and ready to let his feet do the talking, rather than his mouth.

“First of all I had a baby, which changed me a lot. I think a lot of people say that you have babies and they change you and stuff but for me I could really feel a big difference to my life.

“Being abroad showed me a lot of different things and different aspects of how to live and how to cope with problems. That has given me a lot more as a man for now.”

With Olivier Giroud leading the line for the Gunners this season and a number of other strikers ahead of Bendtner in the pecking order, there is little doubt Bendtner will have limited chances in the Arsenal this year.

Nevertheless, that’s not to say the Dane can’t fill a role for the club this season, in a campaign Betfair punters clearly believe Arsenal have a chance of challenging for honours.
