Viviano willing to wait for Arsenal and Italy opportunities

Emiliano Viviano insists his loan move to Arsenal was a good decision and says that he’s willing to wait for his chance to play for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Viviano, who joined the Gunners on loan from Serie A side Palermo in August, has yet to make an appearance for the north Londoners and is considered third choice goalkeeper behind Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski.

However, the 27-year-old Italian shot stopper is convinced that he will eventually break into the Azzuri squad and has set his sights on gaining more game time at Emirates Stadium.

“Even if I’m not presently part of the [Italy] set-up, I have time on my side. I’m 27 and, should I deserve it, I will have other opportunities to wear that shirt.”

“I was close to Roma in the summer, but then the Giallorossi signed Morgan DeSanctis,” he revealed.

“Joining Arsenal was a well-pondered decision. I was given this great opportunity and I took it. I’ll just wait for my chance in the team.”
