Fenerbahçe eye move for Arsenal forward Joel Campbell

Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have made Joel Campbell one of their primary targets in the summer transfer window.

The Arsenal starlet, currently on loan at Olympiakos, has flourished in Greece this season, having racked up 9 goals and 11 assists in 29 appearances.

Reports emanating from Turkey suggest that Fenerbahçe manager Ersun Yanal has identified Campbell as the club’s main target ahead of next season, as he looks to bring the Süper Lig trophy back to the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Campbell, 21, joined the Gunners in 2011 from Deportivo Saprissa and was granted a work permit last summer following a season on loan to Real Betis, but manager Arsene Wenger still decided to send him to the continent for another term.

Greek champions Olympiakos have already opened premilinary negotiations with Arsenal over the permanent signing of Campbell and the player himself has confirmed that he’s settled in Greece.

Wenger is said to be resigned to losing Campbell after being unable to promise the Costa Rica international regular first team football at Emirates Stadium.
