Walcott: "There's going to be many great years at Arsenal with myself and Mesut"
|Theo Walcott admits that he has been frustrated about his lack of game time with Mesut Özil this season, but assures Arsenal supporters that there’ll be many more years of the duo playing together at Emirates Stadium.
The pair have played just 169 minutes of football together but, particularly during Ozil’s debut at Sunderland back in September, there was enough evidence to suggest a profitable partnership could be formed.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday programme, Walcott praised the 25-year-old German international and made it clear that both players have committed their long-term futures to the club.
“I was very excited [when Arsenal signed Özil]”, said Walcott.
“Looking at his stats and the amount of assists he’s got was always going to help my game.
“It’s a shame I haven’t had too many games with him but there’s going to be many, many great years with myself and Mesut playing together.”
Somehow I don’t think so…
Both have a tendency towards injury.
Neither are consistent.
Both are over paid.
Neither would be missed.
Say it as it is…
Missing them both rather badly at the moment I think you’ll find….
