Sagna mulling over latest Arsenal contract offer
|Bacary Sagna is still undecided on whether to accept Arsenal’s contract extension and sign a new two-year deal with the club.
The 31-year-old defender is out of contract at the Emirates this summer, which means any interested foreign suitor has been allowed to talk to him since January.
However, Sagna himself is open to staying at Arsenal and remains locked in negotiations over a new £100,000-a-week deal.
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed yesterday that the French international has yet to make a decision on his whereabouts next season, with Paris-Saint Germain interested.
Manchester City are another club who remain keen on signing Sagna, while Inter Milan have also drawn up a contract offer to the experienced right-back.
Sagna joined Arsenal from Auxerre in 2007 for a fee in the region of £10million and is on the verge of winning the FA Cup this season, which would be first major trophy since arriving in north London 7 years ago.
I think I read it on the internet that he’s been offered £75K/week which is a good pay packet. But Iam sure Sagna is looking at the £90K/week which Per Mertesacker, his compatriot is being paid. And he sees no any reason for not receiving the same pay as Per receives. If Arsenal still need the services of Sagna, they should then pay him the 90K/w. Otherwise he may quit the Gunners for another top club to get better than the 75K/w he’s been offered. Sagna has become a loyal member of the Gunners and he’s a top right back. Why can’t Arsenal try harder to keep him?
