Joel Campbell looks likely to rival the likes of Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott for a spot upfront at Arsenal after the Costa Rican striker turned down several loan offers from European sides.
The 23-year-old is adamant that he will be given playing time this season despite Gunners boss Arsene Wenger boasting a wealth of attacking options to choose from.
Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck all stand in Campbell’s way of a regular first team spot, but the forward’s versatility may work in his favour as he is also able to play on either wing.
Campbell has received offers from Galatasaray and Rennes in the past few days, with both clubs hopeful of tying him down on a season-long loan.
The transfer window in the UK closes at 6pm tonight.
