Arsenal reject offers for David Ospina and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal have rejected offers for David Ospina and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on Transfer Deadline Day.

Colombian shot stopper Ospina has cut a frustrated figure on the sidelines since Petr Cech joined from Chelsea in the summer, and is said to be fed up of being no.2 goalkeeper at Emirates Stadium.

Turkish club Besiktas have made several enquiries for Ospina in the past fortnight and are willing to stump up at least £6m to sign him on a permanent deal.

However, Arsenal are reluctant to let Ospina go with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger keen on keeping an experienced back-up to Cech.

Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been targeted by Southampton who want to sign their former youth product on loan until the end of the season.

Chamberlain has made 29 appearances for Arsenal this season, but his lack of influence on games has seen him fall down the pecking order below the likes of Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell.

The 22-year-old has one goal in the Community Shield to his name this season and Wenger, who sees Chamberlain as a key part of his squad, rejected the loan offer from the Saints.
