Arsenal and Spurs dominate Monday’s back pages
|Arsenal and Spurs dominate Monday’s newspaper back pages after the north Londoners’ beat Leicester City and Manchester City respectively on Sunday.
Arsene Wenger’s men saw their title hopes take a turn for the worse at Emirates Stadium following Jamie Vardy’s first half penalty, but a Theo Walcott strike and last-gasp header from Danny Welbeck secured all three points for Arsenal.
It was a magnificent show of resolve and character from Wenger’s side, a facet that many have already labeled the ‘spirit of potential champions’.
While Arsenal managed to keep their title ambitions in check, several hundred miles up the road saw arch rivals Tottenham beat Manchester City at the Etihad, meaning Spurs have gone back ahead of the Gunners on goal difference.
