Why Arsenal MUST sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer

Right now, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is perhaps the hottest striker in European football. The Borussia Dortmund forward has netted 28 goals in 29 appearances this season and attracted plenty of attention from Europe’s top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and of course, Arsenal.

Aubameyang won’t come cheap but Arsene Wenger MUST do everything in his power to sign the 26-year-old this summer. If the Gunners, who are 6/4 to win the Premier League title in Betway’s football odds markets, don’t win the crown this season, it will be because their manager refused to sign a new centre-forward and opted to place all of his trust in the inconsistent Olivier Giroud.

Next year, Arsenal simply cannot afford to take risks – they NEED success. A club like Arsenal should be competing on a yearly basis, not once every decade or so. The Gunners should be looking to build a dynasty at the Emirates Stadium and Aubameyang is perhaps the perfect fit to slot in as Arsenal’s main striker.

Just imagine Aubameyang in the middle of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil? What a lethal combination. One of the Dortmund striker’s greatest traits is his versatility and ability to play almost anywhere across the frontline, which would appeal to Arsenal and their flowing attacking unit. In fact, it’s very easy to picture him in an Arsenal jersey…

Aubameyang will be linked with numerous clubs between now and the summer transfer window but perhaps now is the perfect time to act. Aubameyang has only had kind words to say about Arsenal and many punters will be visiting Betway’s football odds markets to place a bet on this transfer going through. Are the odds in your favour? Potentially so. If nothing else, it looks as though a deal is plausible at the very least.

With a number of matches still remaining, Arsenal could well go on win the title this season. However, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t invest heavily this summer. After all, it’s almost impossible to defend a Premier League title without bringing fresh blood into the squad – just ask Manchester City and Chelsea. While there are plenty of talented stars out there, Aubameyang MUST be their number one transfer target this summer.

If Arsenal get Aubameyang, there’s absolutely no reason why they cannot win the title next season too. The Gunners have the basis for a very good side but lack depth in certain areas, especially upfront. Aubameyang would bring speed, talent and a desire to succeed – three of the most crucial traits to succeed, both at Arsenal and in the Premier League.
