Mohamed Elneny is a defensive midfielder by trade, attacking midfielder by nature.

The combative Egyptian international, who was Arsenal’s only January transfer window signing after arriving from Basel for £5m, produced an excellent strike against Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Elneny curled in a wonder goal at Camp Nou after being found beautifully by Alexis Sanchez’s pin-point pass on 50 minutes.
