Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny claims he’s just getting started
|Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has claimed that despite his good form early in his career in north London – he is only just getting started.
The Egyptian thoroughly impressed in the month of March and scored his first goal in the 3-1 defeat at the Camp Nou against Barcelona. Solid performances against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Everton helped to affirm the 23-year-old’s place in the first-team, creating a decent partnership with teammate Francis Coquelin in midfield.
Elneny’s consistent form during March helped him win Arsenal Player of the Month, beating Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck to the award. Despite the good beginning to life in north London, Elneny, speaking to Arsenal Player, confirmed that he is just getting started.
“I am very happy to be Player of the Month for such a big club.“It feels very good, it will motivate me to have more faith as I play in the team and it shows how the fans love and believe in me.

“It is very helpful to feel that you are loved by the people in the club and the fans – and I still have more to give the team.
“So, I would like to thank all the people who nominated me. This is just the beginning. Hopefully, I will contribute more and more to the team in the future.”
Arsene Wenger’s men face a tough month ahead but got off to a good start last weekend with a 4-0 win over Watford in what was arguably their most comfortable Premier League performance this season. The Gunners face West Ham at Upton Park for the final time on Saturday lunchtime.
