Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has hailed Alex Iwobi and Serge Gnabry, highlighting the pair as the two young stars to look out for.

Iwobi has had a breakthrough season for the north London side, starting the campaign with the under-21s before making an appearance in the Capital One Cup against Sheffield Wednesday and starting in all but one of the club’s FA Cup fixtures.

Due to the magnitude of how impressive his performance have been, the Nigerian star has become a regular for the first-team and started at the Camp Nou up against the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar, scoring his first Premier League goal just days later at Goodison Park.

Gnabry on the other hand has endured a difficult season, starting on loan at West Bromwich Albion but failing to stake his claim for a place in the frist-team, subsequently being brought back to the Emirates and playing with the under-21s.

Ozil, speaking to the Arsenal matchday programme, claimed that the two have big futures ahead of them.

“They prove themselves in training, they are good on the ball. Alex Iwobi has amazed me with the way he’s performed for the first team recently.

“Then there’s Serge Gnabry, who I like a lot as a player. He’s really robust, very determined and with a real will to win. I think they can really achieve a lot.”

The pair will hope to continue making an impact with the north London side for the remainder of the season.
