Arsenal are preparing to trigger the release clause of Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to reports in France.
Kante has been mightily impressive in his debut season for the club, making more tackles and interceptions than any other player in the league and would likely sit alongside Mohamed Elneny in the starting XI.
As per RMC, the north London side will look to strengthen their midfield by adding Kante this summer, with the fee for his services believed to be just £20m.
The 25-year-old midfielder signed for the Premier League champions earlier this summer and agreed that he would have a release clause of roughly £20m – a fee which could see Arsenal bring in arguably the best midfielder in England’s top division this season.
Should Arsenal move forward with their interest in the Frenchman, Arsene Wenger will have to fight off bids from Manchester City and Chelsea in order to persuade Kante to join the top four hopefuls.
