Arsenal are set to rival Leicester City and Norwich City for 20-year-old Lewes winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, with the talented starlet failing to convince Chelsea to sign him after a trial.

The non-league player is a tricky winger who has been likened to Riyad Mahrez for his dribbling ability and is touted for a big future, despite the fact that he is yet to win his first professional contract.

El-Mhanni has spent time on trials at West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace although neither decided to take him on the books, with Leicester, Norwich and the Gunners themselves all interested in bringing him on board.

It’s likely that should the London-born winger join the club, he would move straight into the academy to play for the under-21s, who recently confirmed their return to Division One of the under-21s Premier League thanks to a goal from Chris Willock and a brace from the talented Stephy Mavididi.

Speaking to Goal, the Lewes star admitted that his time at Chelsea was well appreciated.

“Chelsea took a chance to have a lot at me when other clubs might have turned their noses up.

“It shows while they have big players and can buy, they aren’t afraid to look at players who might not have the CV.”
