Arsenal star makes England under-21s squad for Toulon Tournament
|Arsenal defender Calum Chambers will travel with the England under-21s to France this summer after being named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Toulon Tournament.
The competition takes place later this month between the 18th and 29th May and Southgate has named a strong squad.
Chambers has made three appearances for the senior England side but having played a bit-part role for the Gunners this season was not expected to make the senior squad for the European Championship in France but will still have the opportunity to feature this summer.
The 21-year-old is expected to try and challenge for a place in the Arsenal first-team next season, with Per Mertesacker closing in on the latter stages of his career and Gabriel far from convincing in his performances during his first full campaign.
The full England squad, as reported by the Football Association, includes Chambers as the sole Arsenal representative, with Chuba Akpom missing out on selection.
