Liverpool are set to make a move for Arsenal left back Kieran Gibbs, as the 26-year-old looks to make a move away from north London this summer, according to Football Insider.

The England international has had a disappointing campaign in which he has played second best to Arsene Wenger’s favoured full back in Nacho Monreal.

Despite having broken into the team and becoming the club’s no.1 choice on the left-hand side, injuries and the consistency of Monreal since being introduced has seen Gibbs dethroned, meaning his game time has been severely reduced resulting in him missing out on this month’s European Championship in France – with Ryan Bertrand and Danny Rose selected as starting full backs.

The former Wimbledon academy graduate is valued at around £12m by the club and amid reports that a move for Ricardo Rodriguez could happen, it’s likely that Arsenal will allow Gibbs to leave the club this summer.

However, a move for Gibbs could be scuppered by Liverpool’s reported interest in German defender Hector.
