Vardy makes decision on future as £100,000-per-week Arsenal contracts awaits him

Leicester City centre forward Jamie Vardy is set to snub a potential summer move to Arsenal, according to the London Evening Standard.

The 29-year-old’s buy-out clause of £21m was activated by Arsene Wenger last week and it was believed that the England international was to have his medical on Sunday ahead of agreeing personal terms.

However, the lack of confirmation from the player as well as no announcement from Arsenal by the reported Monday night completion date led to doubts as to whether he would actually join.

Reports later emerged that the Leicester striker was mulling over the decision to join Arsenal, with the likes of Jack Wilshere and other England teammates all lending an ear and a word of advice.

Vardy’s lack of belief that he would start regularly ahead of Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck has led to him being ’80-per-cent sure’ that he will remain at Leicester, despite the offer of a £100,000-per-week contract.
