Roma make “official enquiry” about Szczesny

Italian giants Roma have made an official request about potentially bringing Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to the club this summer.

The Poland international spent the entirety of last season on loan at Roma and according to Gianluca DiMarzio, they want to take him back for another campaign after he impressed.

It’s believed that the Serie A side are willing to offer to pay all of the player’s wages in order to persuade Arsenal to allow him to leave, with the north London side likely to have either David Ospina or Matt Macey on the bench behind no.1 Petr Cech next season.

The ‘keeper is currently on international duty with Poland at the 2016 European Championships and while he has admitted that he’s not thinking about is future, could be on his way out of the Emirates Stadium once again.

Szczesny lost the faith of Wenger and co. after his on and off field antics led to him being dropped in place of Ospina a couple of seasons ago.
