Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to meet the representatives of Lyon centre forward Alexandre Lacazette, according to the Mirror Online.

The Frenchman has been Lyon’s brightest player in the last three seasons and has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal during the past two summers, although any transfer has failed to materialise.

However, with the player himself admitting he would like a move to the Premier League, speculation regarding his future has been rife and bids from Slaven Bilic’s West Ham as well as La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have been rejected by Bruno Génésio.

Lacazette has scored 50 goals in 73 games for the Ligue One side in the last couple of seasons and has at least three-years left on his current deal with the club, meaning they are in no position to need to sell him and can command a fee of what is believed to be in the region of £45m.

While Arsenal are capable of paying the fee, they face stiff competition from West Ham as the east London side look to put in a challenge for the title next season, as well as Diego Simeone’s side who look to add some fire power up top to support Jackson Martinez.
