Decision on Szczesny’s Arsenal future made
|Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is set to return to AS Roma on loan this summer, after the two club’s held talks.
The Poland international spent the previous campaign with the Italian giants and impressed but it’s believed that the club baulked at the asking price set by Arsene Wenger for Szczesny.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia, the two sides have reached a breakthrough in talks and the 26-year-old is set to spend yet another season on loan at Roma, with manager Luciano Spalletti having the option to sign him on a permanent deal for €18m, should he make another impressive impact.

Szczesny was dethroned as Arsenal’s no.1 after bad behaviour off the field as well as inconsistencies on the pitch, leading to David Ospina overtaking him between the sticks, with ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech signed last summer and is expected to remain as Wenger’s favoured choice in goal.
It’s believed, however, that while Szczesny recognises Cech could be at the Arsenal helm for years to come, he still sees his future at the Emirates Stadium and is willing to fight for his future.
