Arsenal are willing to pay the £34.2m transfer fee that will trigger a clause in Alexandre Lacazette’s Lyon contract, according to the Telegraph.

The fee will allow the north London side to enter talks with the 25-year-old, who has been an impressive member of Lyon’s first-team over the past three seasons.

Despite the reports, Arsene Wenger’s side are yet to actually submit a bid for Lacazette’s services, although it’s believed that a move is looking more and more likely.

Lacazette has rejected a number of moves from both West Ham and Newcastle United over the past year but is willing to make the move to a club like Arsenal, although with the Ligue 1 side back in the UEFA Champions League for the new season, he finds himself confused as to whether he should make the risky move to the Premier League or remain in France where he is settled.

With the disappointment of missing out on Jamie Vardy still reeling, it’s reported that Wenger has entered talks with a number of other potential stars, including Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, as well as Lacazette’s representatives.
