Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to full training as Arsenal begin pre-season preparations
Arsenal returned to full first-team training on Tuesday 5th July, with a number of first-team players making appearances at London Colney.
A number of clubs across the country have begun their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season and something that will delight supporters is the sight that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to full training after a lengthy injury lay-off at the end of last season.
Arsene Wenger took the training session while Calum Chambers, Jeff Reine-Adelaide, Mohamed Elneny, Per Mertesacker, Gabriel, Nacho Monreal, Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs were all involved.
The likes of Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey remain at the European Championships – with their respective countries all still taking place, while a number of other players including Alexis Sanchez, Jack Wilshere and Granit Xhaka being allowed extended holidays after taking part in national competitions.
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s returning loanees in the ilk of Gedion Zelalem, Mathieu Debuchy, Chuba Akpom and Yaya Sanogo were also involved at London Colney, although it’s expected that some of those names are expected to either leave the club on a permanent basis or on loan once again.
