Arsenal told to pay £42m as bidding war heats up for 50-goal target

Lyon have told Arsenal and Arsene Wenger that if they want to sign centre forward target Alexandre Lacazette, they must cough up at least £42m.
It was reported earlier this week that the north London side had made contact with the 25-year-old’s representatives and were willing to pay up to £34m to acquire his services – a fee now deemed too low by the Ligue 1 club.

According to the Mail Online, Lacazette is happy at Lyon and in no rush to make a transfer anywhere else but with West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid all displaying some heavy interest in signing him, the French side could allow a bidding war to commence in order to receive the best possible figure for his signature.
It’s thought that Wenger, however, is unwilling to pay that much for Lacazette and could look elsewhere in the form of Alvaro Morata – although Real Madrid’s asking price could be a rather similar high figure.
When on earth are you going to buy top quality players for Arsenal Mr Wenger, master of failure? Arsenal does not belong to you.
