Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has confirmed that he will return to pre-season training at London Colney on Friday 15th July.

The 24-year-old had been allowed extra time off after representing England at the 2016 European Championships – who were knocked out by surprise package Iceland in the round of 16.

Wilshere had been spending time abroad with his family in order to relax and unwind ahead of what will prove to be a tough season – one which the Gunners star will be hoping he can stay fit for the majority of after a torrid track record of injuries over the last six seasons.

The likes of Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey, Alexis Sanchez and Laurent Koscielny all have yet to return to first-team training after successful and long campaigns with their respective nations and could all be set to miss out on the first game of the season against Liverpool on 14th August.

Arsenal welcomed back the return of attacker Joel Campbell in Wednesday’s training session, with the Costa Rican international hoping to have more of an impact after finally starting and playing a role in the club’s games last season.
