Lyon boss fuels Lacazette to Arsenal speculation: “There are some offers that you can not refuse”

Arsenal have been handed a boost in the race to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, after Bruno Genesio admitted that there are ‘some offers that you can not refuse’.

The north London side have been heavily interested in signing the 25-year-old for the last couple of years and have firmed up their interest this summer, submitting a £29m bid to sign him, with Lyon confirming in an official club statement released on their social media that the offer was rejected.

However, speaking to RTL as quoted by Metro News, Genesio confirmed that should Arsenal or any other side submit a bid that blows them out of the water, Lacazette is free to leave the Ligue 1 giants this summer.

“He can leave if Lyon want him to. There are some offers that you cannot refuse.

“My desire as manager is that the best players stay and Lacazette is very important for the team.

“I have been assured by my president that we will keep the player. You never know what could happen right up until the 31st August.”

It’s heavily reported that the Gunners are prepared to go back in with a bid of at least £35m and could submit that offer later this week, although Lyon will look for upwards of £40m to part ways with their talented centre forward.
