Arsenal have handed a trial to 18-year-old goalkeeper Thom Jonkerman, according to the Mail Online.
The 18-year-old is part of the Nike Academy and has impressed for them, with scouts from the Gunners keeping an eye on his progress and having been impressed, have decided to take him on trial with the under-19s, who are currently playing in the Durban International Cup.
Jonkerman’s future will be decided by the tournament as well as how he fits in during training sessions.
Meanwhile, Julio Pleguezuelo moved to RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan but both clubs have yet to announce confirmation of the move, although he has already been pictured in training, so that should be imminent.
In terms of signings for the Gunners, they are heavily interested in signing the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Shkodran Mustafi, while Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is also being monitored though it appears that Claudio Ranieri will get to keep a hold of his star man beyond the summer.
