Blow: Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech could miss Premier League opener

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech could miss the opening Premier League fixture against Liverpool, according to the Mail Online.
The experienced goalkeeper has featured during the Gunners’ pre-season schedule but missed out on the game against Viking FK, with David Ospina playing the entire 90 minutes instead.
According to Sami Mokbel of the Mail Online, Cech has a minor infection and should be fit to start against the Reds, although if prolonged or not treated correctly, he could miss the game.

It’s likely that the 33-year-old will not feature during the final pre-season game of the summer this Sunday against Manchester City in Sweden but should be fine by next weekend.
However, if he is unable to return, the responsibility will almost certainly fall to the reliable Ospina – who is set to play back-up to Cech once again after Wojciech Szczesny was sent out on a season-long loan to AS Roma, while Emiliano Martinez is set to be the club’s third choice in between the sticks.
