Arsenal youngster picks up injury in training

Arsenal have started the season very well after a poor result against Liverpool on the opening day. The North London club currently sit third behind League leaders Manchester City in first and arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in second.

New signings Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi have fitted in perfectly with the team, while Alexis Sanchez seems reborn as a striker. Even the oft-criticised Theo Walcott seems to have finally upped his game and is arguably playing some of the best football of his career. Not everything can go well for Arsenal, however, as we all know perfectly well. Arsenal youngster and England under-21 international, Chuba Akpom, has announced via his Instagram page that he has picked up a back injury and will be out for ‘a while’.

Akpom now joins Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez on the sidelines, unfortunately. The young striker was expected to challenge for a first-team spot this season but it now seems that will have to be put on hold.
