Arsenal and Tottenham set for battle over Portugal winger

Arsenal and their north London rival, Tottenham Hotspur will go head-to-head over Galatasaray star, Bruma in January, according to Squawka.

According to the report, Arsenal and Tottenham have both made inquiries over the 21-year-old Portugal winger. Regarded as one of the top talents in Europe, Bruma has struggled to fulfill his potential since his move from Sporting Lisbon in 2013. This season, however, Bruma has got off to a flying start, scoring two goals to go along with three assists in the Turkish League.

The Portuguese winger has two years left on his current deal and his stalling on a new contract with the club, a contract which could include a £22 million release clause. The signing could well be prudent for both clubs. He fits the young, energetic and dynamic prototype that Pochettino likes in his squad. In terms of Arsenal Wenger could well need another option on the wing as Sanchez is now seemingly the starting striker, while Oxlade-Chamberlain is very much out of form and who knows how long Walcott’s form will continue for.
