Ramsey returns to training but is unlikely to face Swansea
Having suffered a hamstring injury on the opening day of the season, Aaron Ramsey has now returned to on-filed training Arsenal according to Jeremy Wilson of the Daily Telegraph.
Ramsey had suffered pain when he tried to return to training but it was decided that he should take a more careful and long-term approach to his recovery. While Ramsey’s recovery has been prolonged, Arsenal have not missed the Welshman as Santi Cazorla, Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin have been doing more than adequate job in absence. Arsenal’s other absentee, Francis Coquelin, is now back in full first-team training and will now contend to regain his first-team spot.
While Coquelin’s injury was only a minor knock, Ramsey is unlikely to be rushed back. The Welshman played in the Euros over the summer and then missed much of Arsenal’s pre-season, therefore he will not play against Swansea and is unlikely to feature against Ludogorets Razgrad next Wednesday. Indeed Wilson concludes that the Capital One Cup quarter-final against Reading is a more plausible date for his return.
