Lucas Perez picks up injury
Although Arsenal cruised to a 2-0 victory against Reading on Tuesday night, Spanish striker Lucas Perez, suffered an injury which forced him to be subbed off.
According to multiple reports, the striker who signed from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer for £17 million, is set to be out for up to six weeks with ankle ligament damage. The 28-year-old is not set to miss the run up to the Christmas period, including games against Paris Saint-Germain, Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur.
Perez has had a somewhat poor start to his Arsenal career and has only managed one start in the Premier League against Southampton, while scoring twice against Nottingham Forest in the last round of the EFL Cup. Arsenal fans will hope this is not the beginning of the dreaded injury crisis which seems to befall them every year. Santi Cazorla picked up a knock last week and Wenger is unsure of his return, while Giroud and Ramsey should be close to match fitness.
