|Dubbed the new Nasri, Marseille starlet Maxime Lopez is attracting interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool, according to Goal.com.
The 18-year-old made his debut for the Ligue 1 outfit in Marseille’s draw with Bordeaux at the weekend. Arsenal had tried to sign Lopez two years ago before his signed a professional contract with OM but the youngster decided to stay at the French team.
Lopez is talented player who is capable of playing on either wing but is most dangerous playing as a 10 through the middle. Moreover, new coach Rudi Garcia seems ready to hand him a starting role as he has now the full 90 minutes in successive games for Marseille and is already regarded as one of their most talented players. Indeed team-mate Florian Thauvin spoke of how highly regarded Lopez is within the squad.
‘He played a great match, it’s not a surprise for me. We know his qualities. He’s a very good player and has a very bright future. He was able to show everyone the extent of his talents.’
