Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has attracted a lot of interest from many of the top clubs in the world over the last couple of seasons. The Gabon international scored an incredible 39 goals last season and is one of the best strikers in the world.
Due to his superb form, Goal.com reports that Arsenal had a huge £80 million bid rejected by Borussia Dortmund this past summer. According to Goal.com, Italian agent, Vincenzo Morabito had enquired as to Aubmeyang’s availability this summer on the behalf of Napoli but was told that the player was not for sale.
‘Sometime ago, I called Michael Zorc, Dortmund’s director of football, to talk about Aubameyang. But the ‘no’ was absolutely categorical. I know that this summer, Arsenal offered €90m (£80m) for Aubameyang, but Borussia didn’t want to hear anything about it.’
Aubameyang will surely attract interest again this summer as the forward has started the season well, most recently scoring four goals in Dortmund’s 5-0 humiliation of Hamburg at the weekend.
