Alexis Sanchez stalls on new contract

Arsenal v Middlesbrough - Premier League

Arsenal have had on-going talks with Alexis Sanchez over a new deal since last summer but as of yet, the Chilean is yet to sign on the dotted line. Reports suggested that Sanchez wanted a significant rise on his £130,000-a-week-deal, which would put him as one of the highest earners in the League.

The Mirror now reports that both Manchester City and Juventus are preparing £50 million bids for Sanchez. Juventus tried to sign Sanchez during his time with Udinese, but he instead chose to join Barcelona, where his boss was now Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola.

Sanchez enters the final year of his contract next season, which would leave Arsenal at risk of losing him on a free. Moreover, Sanchez seems to have stepped up his performances since he switched from playing as a winger to a striker. Arsenal cannot risk losing their star man, especially on a free.
