Laurent Koscielny to sign new deal with Arsenal

Arsenal defender and French international, Laurent Koscielny is set to sign a new deal with the club according to L’EquipeThe 31-year-old defender’s contract runs out in the summer and it is thought that he will sign a new deal that could see him retire as an Arsenal player.

Koscielny arrived in 2010 from Lorient as unknown Ligue 2 defender but has since gone on to become one of the best centre-backs in the world. Although at the time of his arrival Koscielny was a fairly criticised signing, he is now arguably one of Arsenal’s best and most essential players. After years of fairly inconsistent partners, Koscielny finally has a reliable partner in Shkodran Mustafi and the two have formed a very solid pairing at the heart of Arsenal’s defence.

It is understood that Arsenal will offer him a deal that will take him up t0 2020 as the Frenchman has made it clear that he wants to finish his career at Arsenal.
