Danny Welbeck makes long awaited return from injury

Arsenal v Leicester City - Premier League

According to The Telegraph reports today that Danny Welbeck, who has been out since the 9 May after suffering significant cartilage damage to his knee, is now ready to join Arsenal training again after almost seven months out.

This will come as some much welcome news as Arsenal announced today that Santi Cazorla’s absence for the next 3 months. The English forward is hoping to make his comeback to the first-team after two weeks of full training during the festive period but due to his recent injury record, albeit Wenger will be cautious in rushing him back following two long-term injuries.

As the fixtures start to pile up, the return of Welbeck could allow Arsène Wenger to give players like Alexis Sanchez some well-deserved rest in what could end up being a very tough season.

Danny Welbeck has played 49 games for the Gunners since joining in 2014, scoring 13 goals including the late winner against Leicester back in February, in a game where he was also making his comeback from a long-term injury.
